Consultmed jumps on board with Eucalyptus

The partnership allows GPs to refer their patients to the telehealth firm’s weight-loss arm, Juniper, through their practice management software.

Digital referrals healthtech Consultmed has been chosen by booming telehealth outfit Eucalyptus to support patients accessing Juniper, the company’s weight-loss arm.

Under the partnership, GPs can securely refer patients to Juniper through Consultmed, with full integration into practice management software Best Practice, MedicalDirector, MediRecords, and Gentu.

Referrals, assessments, reviews, and clinical correspondence flow directly into the GP’s practice inbox, creating a closed loop of communication with Juniper clinicians and a complete, auditable clinical record.

Eucalyptus clinicians use Consultmed to return structured assessments, treatment plans, medication decisions, and progress updates directly to the patient’s GP or nurse practitioner, supporting continuity of care.

“As a GP, I am far more comfortable referring patients to services like Juniper when there is a clear and reliable shared care pathway that keeps the patient at the centre,” said GP and Consultmed clinical advisor, Dr Matthew Lam.

“Weight management rarely exists in isolation, and many patients have comorbidities that need ongoing support in general practice.

“Receiving timely, structured clinical correspondence securely back into my practice management system allows me to stay closely involved, support treatment decisions, and continue managing the broader health needs of my patients with confidence.”

GPs, NPs and other primary care providers will be able to refer their patients directly to Juniper weight-loss services via Consultmed from March 2026.

“As telehealth continues to grow, it is essential that services remain well integrated with primary care,” said Dr Matt Vickers, clinical director at Eucalyptus.

“Many of our patients have complex, ongoing health needs that extend beyond a single program, and shared care with their regular GP is essential to delivering safe, high-quality care.

“Partnering with Consultmed enables clear, structured communication with GPs, ensuring they are informed and involved throughout the patient journey, supporting patient safety and continuity of care.”

Eucalyptus hit the headlines this week with news that staff in its Philippines facility were accusing it of overworking and underpaying them.
