A revolution in patient care takes place very soon with the launch of the Best Health App, Best Practice Software’s new patient app

A revolution in patient care has taken place with the launch of the Best Health App, Best Practice Software’s new patient app, which is available free to patients of Practices using Best Practice’s latest Bp Premier software release, Jade Sp1.

Practices will be able to go above and beyond in respect of the added value services that they can offer to their patients.

According to Dr Frank Pyefinch, Best Practice’s CEO, “This new and exciting app will connect Bp Premier Practices with their patients in a way that will help strengthen relationships, engage patients in their health care journey and empower them towards improving their health outcomes”.

The Best Health App enables a direct mobile connection between Patient and Practice. Uniquely, the Best Help App provides the Patient with Health Fact Sheets relevant to their well-being and Health Summaries.

Phase One of the Best Health App also allows the Patient to:

  • View their upcoming appointments
  • Book online appointments if the Practice uses an online appointment vendor
  • Receive and respond to appointment reminders
  • Check-in for their appointments
  • Receive Clinical Reminders and other messages from their Practice

“All this – and reduced administration time, lower messaging costs and streamlined patient communication! It’s every practitioner’s dream!” said Dr Pyefinch.  “Our team is already working on Phase Two of the App which will include even more ways to connect practices and their patients”.

The Best Health App has all the bases covered in respect of Practice/Patient confidentiality. Security, privacy and storage of patient’s sensitive data is critical and forms the architectural backbone of the Best Health App. On downloading the App, two verified forms of ID will be required to enable account creation – an email address and mobile number. Messages will be exchanged using two levels of encryption. Additionally, mobile devices have inbuilt security, meaning that anything stored locally is encrypted. Public access to all data has been blocked. Personally Identifiable Information and Clinical Data cannot be decrypted.

“Getting on board with the Best Help App could not be easier or cheaper for your Practice – we will send you a Welcome Pack with everything you need to activate the App and promote the benefits to your patients including, brochure stand, brochures, posters and instruction sheets” said Dr Pyefinch. “Everything referenced here in relation to the App can be set up with one initial low-cost fee”.

The Best Health App is already receiving accolades – being named a Finalist in the Australian Computer Society Digital Disruptors Awards.

The ACS Digital Disruptors Awards showcase the leadership, creativity and innovation of Australia’s ICT sector and has witnessed a 32% increase in nominations since 2017.

Best Practice Software’s General Manager of Innovation and Development, John Rayfield said he was delighted that the Best Practice Team who have been working on the Best Health App have been recognised for their efforts to date.

“We have been told that one of the ACS’ key priorities as the professional association for the ICT sector is to recognise excellence and to raise the standards and professionalism across the industry, so we’re delighted that our Best Health App team have been named Finalists” said John.  “We have some big plans for the future of our Best Health App, so to be recognised at this early stage by the ACS only encourages us to continue to innovate and deliver leading health care experiences to our Bp Premier customers and their patients”.

The Digital Disruptors Awards will be announced at the conclusion of the Reimagination Thought Leaders’ Summit in Melbourne on 4 December 2019.   “We are very proud of our Development Team who have worked so hard on our Best Health App and have fingers crossed for a positive result at the Awards”.

“While it’s great for the Best Practice team who have worked on the App to be recognised, the best recognition will be when patients download the Best Health App and start using it” said Frank.

“We’ve had great feedback from patients at our Trial sites. They particularly like the Health Summary they can now have on their phone; and the Health Fact Sheets, while the Practice like the fact they can send clinical reminders and have another direct connection to their patients”.

Bp Director Lorraine Pyefinch sees an exciting future for the Best Health App. “As the Best Health App matures, we hope to make it the most valuable tool for our customers and the people they care for.  It strengthens the relationship between provider and patient.  It should lead to better outcomes long term not only for individual health but may also reduce the financial burden of chronic disease on our community” said Lorraine.

The Best Health App can be enabled in the latest version of Bp Premier.
