Baa! I think someone is feeling sheepish.
The shambolic medical regulator has committed yet another gaffe by accidentally breaching the privacy of more than a hundred doctors being investigated for a health impairment notification.
An AHPRA spokesperson told The Medical Republic: “We’ve taken a long hard look at ourselves and we believe that the best thing we can do is to increase our fees and proffer up some good old-fashioned advice.
“So here goes, I hope you’re ready for this – do as we say, not as we do”.
Since hitting on the idea of providing dad-level advice, AHPRA has written a patronising email to its members advising them to:
1. Put your money in bricks and mortar,
2. Measure twice, cut once,
3. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you,
and, crucially,
4. Never drink a whole bottle of coconut flavoured Malibu and wake up face-down in a wintry ditch covered in your own shit.
“These seminal bits of advice aren’t really that helpful,” regulation expert Professor Candid told TMR, “especially when you consider how AHPRA has breached every single last one of them.”
